LOCAL RANCHES
Here’s where we’re coming from.
Chisholm Trail Grass-Fed Beef is a rancher-owned and -operated cooperative. Unlike other providers who raise their beef out of state or even in other countries, we raise our cattle locally on family ranches right here in Texas. They are free to roam as nature intended.
We are also on the same page about what makes for more nutritious beef. Our cattle forage for their natural diet, including a wide assortment of forbs, and it’s spread out over acres, not in a narrow trough. This combination of diet and activity is why Chisholm Trail Grass-Fed Beef is so much leaner and healthier than conventional beef.
Our ranches are certified by the American Grassfed Association. AGA certification means we stay on the straight and narrow, producing meat according to the highest standards of animal health and welfare.
RED PEAK RANCH
Red Peak Ranch is named after its highest point, which winds up being the highest point in all of Mills County, on the northern edge of the Texas Hill Country. The cattle there are allowed to roam the entire ranch and graze on the native grasses and forbs, prickly pears and mesquite, like their breed did hundreds of years ago, before there were fences.
THE LONESOME COWBOY RANCH
The Lonesome Cowboy Ranch is located in Hunt County, to the northeast of Dallas, in the Blackland Prairie region of Texas. The ranch is a thriving natural environment, with plenty of rainfall to grow lush native grasses and forbs. The geography and climate are perfect for raising healthy cattle, who follow their natural instincts to forage without confinement.
